Tyler Lapkin is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. He is a graduate of Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA where he spent 4 years earning his Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM). He is also a graduate of the University of California- Santa Barbara where he studied History and Environmental Science.
Tyler is trained in both Eastern and Western diagnostics and methodology for understanding and treating disease. With a strong interest in Integral medicine, his study of TCM has inspired a knowledge, passion, and belief that Eastern and Western approaches can co-exist and ultimately complement one another to achieve positive results. He works in partnership with the Gene Upshaw Tahoe Forest Cancer Center helping cancer patients transition more smoothly through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. In addition to 4 years of TCM education, Tyler trained in Hangzhou, China at Zhejiang Medical University and traveled to Bali, Indonesia volunteering as an acupuncturist at a birthing/women's center. Tyler has also interned and studied with Stephen Barr at his Tahoe City clinic. He is currently enrolled in a two year clinical integration course with Lonny Jarrett, and an Evolutionary Dynamics course with Integral theory founder Ken Wilber. Tyler spends his time enjoying the outdoors. He is an avid surfer, hiker, and skier, and also enjoys photography, writing, playing the guitar and writing music.
